Quiet beaches and the famous Natural Rock Formation
Neil Island — officially Shaheed Dweep — is the quieter, more intimate alternative to Havelock. Smaller in size and lighter in tourist footfall, Neil offers a genuine slow-travel experience: lush paddy fields, empty beaches, a charming village centre, and some of the best beginner snorkelling in the Andamans.
Laxmanpur Beach: The famous sunset point of Neil Island. A long, sweeping beach where the sky turns extraordinary shades of orange and pink every evening.
Bharatpur Beach: The most accessible beach on the island, right next to the jetty. Crystal-clear water and excellent snorkelling without booking a boat trip.
Natural Rock Formation (Howrah Bridge): A naturally sculpted coral rock arch that resembles a bridge — Neil Island’s most photographed landmark.
Sitapur Beach: The sunrise beach. Worth the early morning auto-rickshaw ride.
Direct ferries from Port Blair (2–2.5 hours) and from Havelock (1–1.5 hours) run daily during peak season.
